Not promoting anything here, but thanks to a cool promotion at Blockbuster, I've got unlimited free rentals until the beginning of next month. And, I'm using this opportunity to watch all the movies I've missed over the last year and change.
Film #4:
Morning Glory
Wow, Rachel McAdams is so damn likeable in this film. So good, in fact, that in my lame opinion, she gave one of the best performances from last year (that's 2010 for you fine folks).
Most of the movie works. I liked her interactions with everybody. But, Diane Keaton isn't given much to do, though her stuff on the morning program "Daybreak" is pretty spot-on. We never get to know her, which is fine since this is McAdams' film, but it left me wanting. Of course, we do get to know Harrison Ford's Mike Pomeroy (great name, by the way), but his stuff on camera was boring as shit. There is no way in hell this character had a career in front of the camera.
But, I was charmed from beginning to end. (4 out of 5)
