Not promoting anything here, but thanks to a cool promotion at Blockbuster, I've got unlimited free rentals until the beginning of next month. And, I'm using this opportunity to watch all the movies I've missed over the last year and change.
Film #9:
The Ghost Writer
It must be nice to be on the run from the law and still manage to make movies, with great actors no less. Yet, Roman Polanski has done just that for decades. Of course, who gives a shit? I saw a movie, and really, the person making it has no bearing whatsoever. Sorry. That's how I feel.
The Ghost Writer is a fascinating film, filled with the coolest kind of twists that don't really feel like twists. They're more like "reveals" than anything else. The ending was just perfect, though I wonder why The Ghost chooses to expose himself the way he does. Isn't he asking for what happens?
The performs are good, all around. From Ewan McGregor and Olivia Williams to Jim Belushi and Kim Cattrall, I was pleased. It was also magnificently shot. Really. Very great looking film.
