[NOTE: My brother came to visit over the weekend, so I didn't have time to watch anything with this Blockbuster deal. Hence, no entries between thirteen and sixteen.]
Not promoting anything here, but thanks to a cool promotion at Blockbuster, I've got unlimited free rentals until the beginning of next month. And, I'm using this opportunity to watch all the movies I've missed over the last year and change.
Film #14:
Winnebago Man
Winnebago Man is about a cranky old bastard. But, the film teaches us that cranky old bastards have feelings, too, and that in each of us there is a cranky old bastard.
You've seen the video. I've seen the video. I've never laughed my ass off, but I have been mesmerized by the words spewing out of this man's mouth. What hell it must have been to have worked on the video shoot for that damn Winnebago.
We learn a lot about the video. We learn a lot about people who have seen it. We learn a lot about the man in the video. We learn a lot. But, director Ben Steinbauer keeps it going with such a pace that I loved watching this documentary. Like all the best ones, this doc felt more like a dramatic film.
Do me a kindness and watch this film. I think you'll love it as much as I did.
Now, did anyone believe that shit? (4 1/2 out of 5)
